In the world of the printing industry, there is a lot of debate about which printing techniques will soon die out and which ones will be used more and more in the future. Why?

We all like to keep up with the latest developments in the industry and of course have a competitive edge. Even if things change extremely fast with the development of technology, we can only ask ourselves, and when we are already asking, let’s go through the advantages and disadvantages of the UV system, and after that we may be one step closer to the answer to our dilemma.

Advantages of UV paint:

Fast drying time: UV ink dries almost instantly when exposed to UV light, allowing for faster printing and finishing processes compared to traditional ink.

Vividness and clarity: UV inks offer bright and vivid colors, as well as excellent clarity and sharpness of printed images.

Good Adhesion: UV ink provides strong adhesion to a variety of materials, including plastics, metals and paper, making it a versatile choice for printing on a variety of surfaces.

High durability: UV paint is resistant to water and abrasion, making it ideal for products that require long-term durability.

Disadvantages of UV paint:

Higher costs: UV ink is generally more expensive than traditional inks, which can increase printing costs.

Limited color gamut: UV has a more limited color gamut compared to traditional inks, which can be a disadvantage for some printing applications.

Requires special equipment: UV ink requires special printing equipment, which can be a significant investment for some printers.

Environmental concerns: UV ink contains higher levels of potentially harmful chemicals compared to traditional inks, which can pose risks to human health and the environment if not printed properly.

What do you think, is the UV system just a trend or are we yet to feel all its potential?!
